That just depends on who you ask, Im neutral on this question but many say no and many say yes so its in the eyes of the believers and the eyes of the nonbelievers, the fact is there is no evidence they do exist and there is no eveidence they dont exist,

There are literally thousands of reports of UFOs dating from the 1940s. There are also many that have been reported well before that time. Some people even fancy that they can find reports of UFOs in ancient writings.
However, the fact is that the vast majority of these reports can be and are explained as unusual atmospheric effects or earthly aircraft seen under unusual circumstances.
It stands to reason that if the vast majority of reports ARE explained as earthly effects, then it is highly PROBABLE that they ALL can be explained as earthly, but in the small number of controversial sighting we don't have sufficient information to be certain.
Although there has been much speculation, we still don't have firm reason to believe that technologically capable beings exist anywhere else in the part of the universe accessible to us (or which would make us accessible to them).
Also, there have been some spectacularly entertaining sci-fi shows made over the years and this has raised the public expectation that UFOs are real, however the reality of studio props, actors and electronic music does not add to the probability of reality of UFOs.
However, despite all that there is no proof that advanced civilisations don't exist in our galaxy. There is always the tiny possibility that the very rare sighting is of a real UFO that just happened to be present in the Earth's atmosphere.

UFO's are real, in the sense that they are "unidentified flying objects."
Therefore, *anything* that you see moving in the sky that you *can't identify* can be labeled as a UFO
"Aliens" are also real; if you're meaning the Mexican family that lives down the street.
If you mean "space aliens", or extra-terrestrials visiting earth, I sincerely doubt it.
In order for humans to travel to some nearby solar system, it would require more energy than has *ever existed* on the planet earth, and even then it might still take thousands or hundreds of thousands of years.
Now, even given the fact that an alien civilization might have some pretty advanced technology, they still cannot break basic laws of physics. In other words, they couldn't travel faster than the speed of light, can't use unrealistic amounts of fuel and energy to power a spacecraft, and they cannot negate the truly huge distances between stars and stellar systems.
Personally, I think the odds are good that life *exists* at least somewhere else in the galaxy or the universe.
On the other hand, the chances that an intelligent alien race could even *contact us* (via radio or light waves) is slim to nonexistent. Never mind travel to our planet. Humans have only been transmitting and receiving radio signals, for what, 120 years?
Now, I won't say that space aliens are "impossible;" merely that they are so *unlikely* as to make the idea ridiculous. You have much better chances of flipping a quarter a hundred thousand times, and having it come up heads each time.
As "Spaceguy" said, there is no good evidence that they exist, and no good evidence that they don't exist. Just like God, it's really just a question of personal opinion, not one of facts.
Hope that makes sense,

Real without a doubt.
There are numerous governments that have asked the US government to come clean about what it knows - UK, France, Mexico, Canada, Brazil are just some examples.
UK is releasing its UFO files in March 2008.

France released its UFO files in March 2007

There is a huge amount of evidence to support the idea that ET's have been visiting earth for thousands if not millions of years and still do - every 4 hours a UFO is reported around the globe.
If you wanted to find out if we are being visited by ET's who would you ask? the military?
... well guess what, there are 400 military officials\ commercial pilots\ government officials that have testified they are a real phenomenon. http://www.disclosureproject.org/
Why is this secret not out?
Because ET's use technology that although very useful are also extremely dangerous in the wrong hands. Imagine a zero point energy vehicle in the hands of Iran or a criminal gang. A criminal gang could pull of some awesome bank robberies.
Basically this technology changes everything. We won't need oil any more. We can transport stuff for free!
For many of us alien visitation is now considered fact, its unusual but comforting to see that governments are now substantiating this phenomena....
The information coming out is now at critical mass - don't be the last to find out.
Enjoy the learning.

Yes, the universe is simply to large to NOT have other civilizations, there's probably millions of them in this galaxy alone, and theres hundreds of billions of other galaxies as well! They wouldn't all be super-advanced, though, some are probably at a stone age level while some are advanced in ways we can't imagine, and everything in between!
You could try going to your library and see if theres anything there about them, they have LOTS of good books on the subect!

There are certainly objects which fly and are not identified, but they could be military aircraft, birds, asteroids skimming through the atmosphere or unidentified planets. If they were alien spacecraft they would presumably be undetectable, which isn't the same as saying they don't exist, but if a sighting is reported, it isn't an alien spacecraft.

no. they do not exist. traveling that distance would be impossible and no scientist has ever seen or documented a UFO or alien craft. its always rednecks without cameras saying things like "i was in bed with my wife/sister/aunt and i saw a UFO"

It depends who you ask and wither you believe or don't believe their reasons. I personally don't believe in them but who knows, I could be wrong. My reasons for not believing in their existence is in the Bible, where it only talks about the creation of the universe and creatures on Earth.

i'm sure i saw one with my family a few years ago.
my opinion on the matter is that if the universe is as big as scientists says it is, there has to be something out there.
if you look in the bible also, it says that we were created in god's image. i'm sure he could create something not in his image either. and he could make it the death of us too, like what some people fear with war of the worlds and stuff like that.
