Perigee, the point in the moon's orbit when it is closest to Earth. The moon has an elliptical orbit like ours. When it is farthest away from the Earth in it's orbit, it is called apogee, and when it is closest, like now, it is perigee, much like the perihelion and aphelion of the planets to the sun.

It's getting closer. The moon doesn't have a perfectly uniform orbit. It gradually gets closer or further away, I think.
