I accidently bought a telescope online but that doesn't matter since I wanted one anyway. Which telescopes are good and which are bad? Any suggestions for me?

The Big Bang and the Big Crunch are among these theories...
My theory is that the universe began as nothing and that somehow it created an atom and then the Big Bang occurred. How nothing craeted an atom is probably impossible to explain so that is why I would like to know other theories to perhaps find an answer as to how nothing can create somthing. The universe had to begin as nothing because you cannot ask the question how was that nothing created...or can you?

I love to learn about the stars and planets. One night I was looking at the sky and I saw this blue-ish thing sorta flashing in the sky. I stood still to see if it was a plane comeing, but it wasn't. I kept seeing it -- and so did every body else. What do you think it could be? A dieing star? or...? IM CURIOUS!!! HELP!

My daughter needs this info for a school project and we can't seem to find any site with COPYRIGHTED information to use. If a website is found, it must have a copyright date on it.

Thanks!!

Is Gravitational Lensing the reason light cannot escape a black hole?

If you believe in relativity then you believe that planets or other massive objects influence the shape (or fabric) of space. Then does it follow that since a black hole has infinite gravity it would have infinite warp on the fabric of space, so any light source from within would follow the shape of space that was infinitely warped and just spin in circles around the center of mass? In theory.

and that on the one (observable) end of the spectrum there are the laws of physics and the most basic element, hydrogen, and on the other end of things, there are the laws of physics, and elements that are only limited in their complexity by the amount of energy that is available to form them.

Is there any evidence that UFO's, aliens or whatever kind of extra terrestrials exist?
Or, are you convinced that we are not alone, by having seen an UFO (or so)

If a spaceship was saucer shaped then the rooms on the outer edge would be a strange shape indeed! IKEA flat packed furniture would not fit in the corners because there are no corners on that 'wall'. That certainly limits how you could arrange the room even for an extra terrestrial!! Your views please
