whats the current status of the universe? is it expanding, open or contracting?

Well, i know that tests show that its still expanding.... but then how can we be sure whether the farthest ends of the universe have started to recoil/contract.
We wouldnt know cos this info to come to us will take so much time.

so how can we be sure?

* I believe the natural causes are behind the global warming, as by watching some programs nowadays transmitted on UKTV history channel, showing :-
1- That the temperature of the sun is increasing, which leads to the earth receiving more heat than before, leading to its warming.
2- The earth was passing through different ages (ice age, water age) & the natural changes still continuing to occur.
* so not the fumes from my , your car & the air flight, which I have to pay £40 (increase in tax/UK), as by paying that will not sort the matter out!
* man made CO2 might come by chance of the existing natural warming (the timing of it).
* But man made CO2 consists an easy excuse for the governments to rob their citizens! What a shame.

In about 3 billion year Andromeda galaxy will collide with our MilkyWay.

Of course, i doubt whether humans will survive until then, but however i need to know whether what kind of effect it will have on Earth?

Is there a chance for it to be safe as there is a lot of empty space between the two galaxies?

If not, what changes in physics or hypothetical new particles/laws would be needed in order to be possible...? Serious answers please. Thank you.

Would you rather be contented to believe that earth is the ultimate planet in the universe that sustains life.

If you are a regular listener to the coast to coast am radio show (Jan. 29), you already know. For the rest of you, are you ready to move away from coastal shores, have you a plan to be able to live off the land for at least a year? Do you think you can kill to protect your family as infrastructure and civil order breaks down?
In 10-20 years, the solar system will pass through the center line of the milky way (known as the galactic plain). As it does, the gravity pulses from the black hole in the center will effect the sun and earth. The sun, nearing it's 24th solar cycle will go into overdrive, sending out solar flares of unseen proportions. This , in addition to new stresses on the tectonic plates will cause 1/3 of the world's population (coastal first)to perish in the first week. Another 1/3 won't survive due to lack of medicine, infrastructure, and general breakdown of social order. Those who are left will have to live off the land. source: the horizon project (Brent Miller)

People are looking for a similar civilisation in outer space hoping to share information and make friends. Do they look for a twin civilisation just like ours here on Earth? So they need to find a planet with just the right water and air temperatures (~55-75 degree F range) et cet. But what is civilisation? Ants and bees live in colonies. Are they what we need? No. We think about civilisations that do have computers and flying machinery. But we people have this equipment because we do not have wings and powerful enough brains so we need these technological crutches.

It's possible that some civilisations can move around using power of their will, so they do not need clumsy machinery at all. Imagine life made from waves, or size of 5 million galaxies, or invisible carbon-fluoride slime that can create and destroy whole universes. And these entities will reproduce asexually. How do we contact and make friends with them? Is our search for civilisations the same as that for gods (God)?

How did it make you feel?

2007-02-03 19:18:25 · 8 answers · asked by itry007 4

It was 5 years ago in 2002 when i was in bed and i don't feel sleepy and decides to look outside of my window to the sky, there was alot of stars and i saw one that was flashing green and white and it was moving like circling and (note: i couldn't hear any airplane or helicopter sound that time) and flash green and white faster, then it disappear. I did not make this up, I just wrote what I saw that day.

I was amazed what i saw in the sky that day so I decided to studied and learned about the planets, our solar system, the galaxies, and the universe and one day prove that U.F.O realley does exist.

And finally how did life on Earth started? did others life somewhere in the Universe, millions of years ahead of us started the life on Earth which we live on today. Thousands, millions or billions years later they must have came back with U.F.O .

Its amazing that our world (Earth) is so small, and there are other planets out there in the universe which some contains life.
