me first ! me first !!!!! LOL

but I want an interstellar engine and a decent starship.

Travel and explore !!
To boldly go where no man ha gone befo..... OPS sorrry. LOL

No seriously, we need first to find a real space engine for travelling at decent speed into space. There are some nice projects at NASA website, even accurate mathematical descriptions of 3 (three!) different curvature propulsion engines.
Then there is the Heim's Field Theory, but we need first to translate the 5000 pages in modern physics to understand it.
Then there is just the hybernation Theory, but think about it, you take a slow spaceship, hybernate youself and reach Proxima centauri after 120 years. and there you find a human colony ! because 40 years ago a braktrhough technology permitted fast spaceflight and there is already a colony there ! no way !

have fun.

I understand your enthusiasm - I myself was quite eager to do that as a child.
However interstellar voyage even with the best of the technology in the foreseeable future would mean being in a confined space for veeeery long time. That may lead to some serious psychological problems.
I prefer to wait a bit until they learn to download people into computers(not joking)
Then you could fly anywhere and still enjoy unlimited virtual space...
And even if you spaceship crashes you would still have that DVD backup of yourself from week ago... :-)
