People are looking for a similar civilisation in outer space hoping to share information and make friends. Do they look for a twin civilisation just like ours here on Earth? So they need to find a planet with just the right water and air temperatures (~55-75 degree F range) et cet. But what is civilisation? Ants and bees live in colonies. Are they what we need? No. We think about civilisations that do have computers and flying machinery. But we people have this equipment because we do not have wings and powerful enough brains so we need these technological crutches.

It's possible that some civilisations can move around using power of their will, so they do not need clumsy machinery at all. Imagine life made from waves, or size of 5 million galaxies, or invisible carbon-fluoride slime that can create and destroy whole universes. And these entities will reproduce asexually. How do we contact and make friends with them? Is our search for civilisations the same as that for gods (God)?

civilisation is the outcome of evolution, making mankind a civilized species. however civilized enough to figure that we developped civilisation.
This is what we call our own civilisation.

Now one can imagine that somewhere in space some other species was lucky enough to develop its own civilisation.
Unfortunatly the chances are very small, cause it took the earth like 4+ billion years till today and its believed we are the result of a hughe chain of dependencies starting with our planet at exactly this distance to the sun, etc etc.
Now seeing that the universe is HUGHE the chances for other life are growing again. But i would prefer to stay realistic about how any extraterrestical life would look like. They are bound to the same physics we are... sooo ... clumsy machinery ? Since when is bacteria using machines ???
I would not confuse our search for other life in space for the search of god .. maybe some people do ..
God i think takes in as a placeholder for everything unexplained for the individual .. just have a look at what level of education people are calling god to be existing and how they are related to him...interesting.
civilisation means.. we learned how to discuss that without killing each other. The ability to step back and try to see the picture as a whole .. that is what i would call civilisation.

oh i forgot:
CIVILISATION is a computer-game created by Microprose in the 90's

No at all, God has create one university and there is no planet with the same temperature or with principles of life like in our planet. However, if there is another planet like our planet so why we has not found it ?, why God create two planets like each other? why he does not create a big one instead of two similar plants? God plan for everything nothing is made for fun or without important. Think about that,Good luck!
