If you were to eat (and successfully swallow) a tablespoon of salt in one go would it cause instant death? If not, any damage? Or how much salt would you need? I heard it gives you a heart attack.

Think about it.. just because the worlds first discoverers were from the northern hemisphere, why do they think that that side of the world is up? It could be that we are looking at the world upside down. If the first discoverers were from Australia or Africa, would the world map be drawn in reverse?

[sin(x) + sin(x)tan^2(x)] / sec^2(x) dx

on [0,pi/3]

so far i've gotten
=sin(x)(1 + tan^2(x))/sec^(x)
=sin(x)(sec^2)/sec^2(x)

and im stuck from here.

The threshold of hearing is defined as the minimum discernible intensity of the sound. It is approximately 10^-12 W/m^2 . Find the distance from the car at which the sound from the stereo can still be discerned. Assume that the windows are rolled down and that each speaker actually produces 0.06 W of sound, as suggested in the last follow-up comment.

If the the space-time 'curvature' proposed by Relativity is real, wouldn't the curvature have to be through a higher dimension, since we can't see it? Think of the 2-dimensional grid diagram they use to illustrate gravity sometimes. Now extend that grid into 3 dimensions, creating a lattice. Now place a mass at the center of one of the cubes in that grid. What happens? The cube 'shrinks' a little, dragging the lines to the other cubes (spacetime) with it. That's the spacetime distorion (curvature) caused by gravity. If you think about that models of a tesseract you've seen, one cube inside the other, you see that gravity must be a 4th dimensional vector. It's relatively (!) easy to visualize if you think about it that way.

Normally, set x is considered equal to set y if x={A,B} and y={B,A}. However, for my question let's assume {A,B} = {B,A} is NOT true because of the sequence of their members. We have a set c with n number of unique elements. How many subsets can there be for the set c if:
*{A,B} and {B,A} are not considered equal or same
*Each subset has maximum two elements
*An element is not repeated in the subset

Is there any specific term for above mentioned phenomenon?

A guy welding together a large cube using angle iron for the edges notices that the cube is not very rigid. So he decides to weld on some diagonal braces, going from any one corner to another. How many braces does he need to make the cube rigid? Assume that each member is rigid, but that all joints are flexible. Crossing diagonals may be welded together.

The reason for this 2nd repost is because some may have more to say on this problem. Can it be done with fewer than 6 diagonals?
