unsolvable.
Remove the base :
2x + 5 = 2x + 8
0 = 3
Contradiction!
So, it is unsolvable for x.

im assuming its log base 6 so you could just set the two eq.'s = to each other

2x+5=2x+8

two logs with the same base can be set = to each other...goes for any number as the base...

2x+5 = 2x+8
Move x's to one side and #s to other.
2x-2x=8-5
0 = 3

It doesn't work out. That is if it is Log BASE 6.
