A large novel is divided into a three-volume set. Volume one begins with page one with the pages being numbered consecutively from volume 1 through volume 3 (In other words, if the last page of volume 1 is 324, then the first page of volume 2 is 325). There are an equal number of pages in each volume. If the sum of the numbers of the first pages of each volume is 1674, how many pages does each volume have?

Where in the Cerebral Ventricular System you can find the 1st and 2nd Ventricles? Are the lateral ventricles intially considered as the 1st and 2nd Ventricles? Why don't the neuroanatomists consider the ventricles naming as Mesencephalonic Ventricle, Thalamic Ventricle, and the Lateral Ventricles? What is the reason? Are these ventricles the location of the flow of the Cerebrospinal fluid?

but I thought a mule was the cross between a male horse and a female pony. And what is the difference between a pony and a donkey? And how come its not bad to say *** when you are talking about mules, but if you are talking about rear ends it is not good to say and your teacher could send you to the principals office? And would you get in more trouble if you said the "a" word with a "hole" at the end or if you saud the "f" word" and why?

A very tall office building has 4 elevators and 60 floors. Each elevator travels upward at an average rate of 18 feet per second. There are 12 feet between floors in this building. Suppose you get on the elevator on the first floor and travel straight to the fifty-sixth floor without stopping. To the nearest second, how long will it take to travel from the first floor to the fifty-sixth floor on this elevator?

Last night I was driving home and like 6 adults racoons were crawling out of a drainange hole on a busy street in my samll OR city. Their habitat has been destroyed as this entire area was brush and trees etc and it has been bull dozed down and they are rapidly building condos etc. What can i do to help them "Move" to another location, I am sure they are freaked out and have lost their entire "place to live" They were about to run across our new road that is now very very busy. Is there a way to help them "move further out into the surrounding country side before they get hit by cars :( A huge animal lover who went back, it was after dark and threw all my fruit etc. out so they wouldn't cross the road. I know very little about racoons, except to stay away as they can be dangerous. thanks for kind advice

Earlier I asked for a valid proof for
sinh x = [ e^x − e^−x ] ⁄ 2
cosh x = [ e^x + e^−x ] ⁄ 2

I was told, simply, that these are defined as such... that it has to do with the hyperbolic functions being "analogous" to the normal trigonometric functions.

I accept this as truth now. But can someone explain it to me? Demonstrate this "analogy". I am still looking for some sort of proof to this analogy or this relationship.

How does the mere definition of the hyperbolic sine function, as the opposite (y-coordinate) on the unit hyperbola, and the definition of sine, allow us to extrapolate this relationship? Exactly how do we go from sin x = [ e^(ix) − e^(−ix) ] ⁄ 2i to sinh x = [ e^x − e^−x ] ⁄ 2
