The moon is not producing light because there are not chemical or nuclear reactions going on there that can produce light. The sun is producing light because of a powerful nuclear reaction. Hydrogen is undergoing fusion to become helium. This is called nuclear fusion and it releases lots of energy. One form of that energy is the light that we get from the sun. A campfire is undergoing a chemical reaction where the chemicals in the wood are reacting to oxygen in the air and producing new chemicals and releasing the energy stored in chemical bonds in the wood. One again, light is one of the forms of energy that you get. There are no reactions happening on the moon that can produce light. The moonlight is nothing more than reflection of the light from the sun.

Its not a star. It doesn't generate its own light. The sun is at like 5,800K (surface temperature) and 15 million K (in the core) to make hydrogen fussion so it can be as bright as it is now. The sun's light is only reflected onto the moon onto us. The moon is argued to be just a piece of the earth that broke off before life began.

Because it's just a big ball of rock. There is nothing about the moon that would cause it to generate any significant amount of energy. The sun, on the other hand, is such a massive collection of gasses that the atoms in the center are under sufficient pressure to allow fusion to occur, which generates massive amounts of energy, which we see as light, and feel as heat.

There are several reasons why it doesn't have it's own light like it has just the rocky surface and it doesnot have enough energy to glow itself as other stars have.
