x = amount of water to be added
0.50(6) + x = 0.75(6+x)
3 + x = 4.5 + 0.75x
0.25x = 1.5
x = 6 oz of water

answer is 6 oz water.
how?
50% of 6oz + xoz = 75% of (x + 6)oz
=> 3 + x = 3/4(x + 6)
=> 12 + 4x = 3x + 18
=> x = 6

50% of 6 oz. is 3 oz. So to make the mixture 75% non-alcoholic, you need to add 9 oz. of water. Since already 3 oz. exists in the original mixture, you need to add another 6 oz. of water now.

Let x =shave solution ,water content
x =0.5(6) =3
y = water added to make solution 75% non-alcoholic
.5(6) + y =(3 +y)(0.75), water solution(2)
3. +y = 22.5 +.75y
.25y =25.5
y = 25.5/0.25
y =102 fl.ounces
