I am doing this assignment and am stuck on this question. Any help would be much appreciated!

Q- Considering that low pressure and high pressure zones give us different weather patterns, compare their air flow directions at ground level and aloft and explain how this flow contributes to the weather pattern.

A small block of mass 0.09 kg is placed against a compressed spring at the bottom of a frictionless track that slopes upward at an angle of 40 degrees above the horizontal. The spring has k = 640 N/m and negligible mass. When the spring is released, the block travels a max distance of 1.8 m along the track before sliding back down. Before reaching this max distance, the block loses contact with the spring. (a) what distance was the spring originally compressed? (b) When the block has traveled along the track 0.8 m from its initial position against the compressed spring, is it still in contact with the spring? What is the kinetic energy of the block at this point?

Changing fractions to decimals.... How is the answer 0.8 gotten from 4/5? This thing I am looking at says divide the numerator by denominator. So, 4 divided by 5 is 0.8 on the calculator. But where does the 8 come from? I need to know how to do it without a calculator. I need it explained in detail.

Okay, we know that there really is no way right now, that we can know if there are other civilizations out there somewhere. But! Do you think that it is possible that sometime in the near future, we could intercept some of their frequencies? Some say this has already been done and is top secrete classified information. I have no idea. I figure that could be a matter of opinion. But to me, it does seem very possible! Am I wrong? Since there are so many stars and galaxies out there, I am certain that there has to be another planet similar to ours. Whether there are civilizations, dinosaurs, or other animals on those planets of course remains a mystery. I am fascinated by this though. Its quite interesting.
