In a room, you notice that there are two lights that "buzz" at two different pitches that you hear makes an interval of a minor third. You play middle C on the (in-tune) piano in the room, and hear that it makes an interval of a major tenth with the lowest "light buzz".

a) What are the frequencies of the buzzes? (Assume Pythagorean tuning.)
b) What are the notes of the buzzes?
c) What is the quality of the chord that these three pitches make?
d) What note would you need to make it into a minor seventh chord and what is the frequency of that note? (The root does not have to stay the same)

I'm doing a science project and its pretty common. I'm doing Acid Rain and its effects on plant growth. Now, originally I wanted to just use something simple... like carrot seeds but my mom said she wouldn't be able to find them because they're out of season, so I picked basil seeds. Anyway, I turned in my topic approval sheet and my teacher returned it with a few questions.
He wanted to know:
Why basil seeds?
I told him,"Because they grow fast enough for me to do the experiment in the amount of time given and because a lot of other seeds were out of season"
but he told me that I might want to have more of a scientific reason, or to pick new seeds, still with a good reason why.

and

How will I make this project more interesting and different then ones done in the past?

I wasn't sure on this one.... So far what im doing pretty much is having 8 test groups with different amounts of acid rain used in them and I will be recording what i notice in a nb.

Suggestions?

this question was on my quiz and i got it wrong, but im still not sure how to figure it out.

Solve in the interval 0 degrees less than or equal to "x" less than or equal to 360.

sin2xsinx - cos2xcosx = 1

thank you all very much!

A current of 5 [A] is flowing from left to right through a wire. The actual charges that are
moving inside the wire are electrons. Calculate how many electrons move past a given point
on the wire (moving from right to left), in a time of 60 [s].

How do i solve this problem?

I mean, the theory is that amino acids eventually form together to make DNA, which then evolves into more complex DNA to create life. But how could amino acids form together to make DNA since the cells which make these acids to create DNA is made from the blueprints of DNA itself? This is conflicting so did I get the theory wrong?

Also, I think that there are 20 are so different amino acids, with only a few workable combonations, so if amino acids ever did somehow randomly hook together, the chances of a DNA strand being made is slim... am I right here too or is my thinking flawed?

Thanks please leave an explanation not just a "no" or please confirm if "yes"

A 109kg crate is pulled along a level surface by an engine. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the crate and the surface is 0.28. The acceleration for gravity is 9.8m/s^2 how much power must the engine deliver to move the crate at a constant speed of 4.04m/s. answer in units of watts. also, how much work is done by the engine in 3.64 minutes.

I have no idea how to do this....

A 0.2 kg mass is attached to a spring k = 10 N/m) and hangs vertically near the earth's surface (g = 9.81 m/s2 ). The mass makes contact with a wall as it moves vertically and a constant frictional force of magnitude 5N acts on the mass as it moves.

a) Calculate the amount of work required to pull the spring down by 1 m.
b) Calculate the speed of the mass as it passes through the equilibrium position after being pulled down by 1 m.

i asked this in chemistry and got no answer, so ill ask it here.

according to my chemistry teacher 2 electrons in an orbital have to have opposite spins, so one is +1/2, the other is -1/2. but electrons are leptons, which all have -1/2 spin. so how does the spin of an electron change if its supposed to be -1/2.
