Why shouldn't we write stuff we made up, when you've shown us that you read what other people have made up? Where did you hear that rubbish?

Discovery did that whole Nostradamus thing saying that many people believe it would happen, but these same people have been preaching that we are experiencing a "perfect storm", where all of the prophecies (in the Bible, planets have aligned, fortune cookies, etc) are coming true.

Also, I'm sure technology today would be able to prevent a comet from hitting the Earth (and people laughed at Reagan's Star Wars Initiative lol). On that note, scientists are monitoring the skies constantly. They can see things so small and so far away that you wouldn't believe it if they showed it to you. If a comet was to be aimed at the Earth, scientists would no doubt have seen it by now.

That is fake. No comet is on course to hit Earth in 2012.

Total fake..! No known comet or asteroid is going to impact Earth in 2012.

False. Nothing big is predicted to hit the Earth in 2012. There's always small stuff (meteors) hitting the Earth, but almost none of it reaches the surface, and what does is mostly harmless.

Rule of thumb: all predictions regarding the end of the world in the year 2012 are misconceived, misled or lies.

The world may indeed "end", whatever that means, in 2012, but not as a result (or as predicted) by anyone, but rather because the same chances of it apply to all years.

My advice: make all your greatest plans for 2013-onwards.

no, its completely false. that got mixed up with the apophis comet that people said would come close in 2029 and then comeback in 2036 and hit us. its now been downgraded to a 0, which means theres no way it will hit us.

I've never heard about that, but that is interesting since the ancient Mayans predicted the end of the world to be in December of 2012.
