4x^2 + 10x + 3 = 0

x^2 = 3 - 4x

-4x^2 - 3x - 1 = 0

(3x + 5)^2 = 100

I know I'm suppose to use the quadratic formula for the first one (which I did, but I came up with a different answer than the choices given) but I don't know how to work the others. HELP!

Dr. Bob is preparing to operate on Sally for an immediately life-threatening condition. Just before he begins the operation, he discovers that she is 17 years old. Her parents, with whom Dr. Bob has never discussed the operation, are in the waiting room of the hospital. Using this scenario, discuss "informed consent" and describe what Dr. Bob should do in this situation and how his obligations might be different if Sally's parents were unavailable.

Showing the statement below seems to be a cute problem (f^k denotes the k-th derivative of f). I don't have the proof yet, but I was assured by a top dog that the statement is true.

Suppose that, for some positive integer n, the function f: R->R is (n +1) times differentiable and that both f and f^(n+1) are bounded on R. Then, for every k=1,2,3.... , f^k is bounded on R

I've played around with a Van de Graaff generator before in the special projects program at my school and I've seen a Tesla Coil in action at the McWane Center in Birmingham, AL. I know about the inner working of the Van de Graaff gen. Rubber belt, copper wire, steel ball, motor. Easy enough. But what about a Tesla Coil? Our school doesn't have one of those laying around for us to mess with (our science classes are very general) and I just want to know. Please don't copy something from Wikipedia. I hate that. Would someone who knows what they're talking about explain it?

By the way, I don't have a project or anything, I just love science but biology is boring me to death. This question came to me while I was watching some Tesla Coil videos on Youtube.
