It starts to get lighter, very gradually after the shortest day on 21st December, and will continue to get lighter on a daily basis, and by the end of March, when we put the clocks forward again, we will be having nice long hours of daylight again! Seems a long way off doesn't it?

You will begin to notice later lighting up times at the end of January next year. It gets more noticeable then until the clocks go forward in March.
