If you read police reports about taser incidents, you will find there is no guarantee until you get to killing voltage. A person who is hopped up on drugs and/or alcohol will tolerate more than a sober person - someone who is fatty will have a different reaction than someone who is lean (obviously lean person is much taller if both weigh 200 pounds)

No guarantee with any weapon smaller than a machine gun.
The military in Germany uses a small caliber pistol as protection for the officers. The police has large caliber colts and keeps laughing at the military guys when they train together at the same shooting range. To the police only one thing matters: that the suspect goes down ASAP and they know that nothing short of a machine gun will do that. Their colts are somewhere in the middle but the military weapon is just a toy unless you hit the head.
Your stun gun won't do a thing against someone who is drugged and/or high on adrenalin.

I disagree. I red the report where elite red beret commando was hit by 50000 volts. He hit the floor with loud and painful scream. Jugging by the picture, he was around 105kg. It took him 20 secs to recover and stand up. Adrenaline/drugs doesn't matter since electric shock causes neural system overload, not a musculature failure.

It varies from individual to individual. Some people need 50,000 V, some need .45 ACP, and others need .50 BMG.

50,000 should do it...won't knock him out, just render immobile... hurts like sin. Grabbed an electric fence on a farm once....made me sit right down.
