Where you would woork would be up to you. There are many different aspects of marine biology; what part are you interested in? Do you want to sit at a desk crunching numbers and analyzing data? Do you prefer to be out in the field doing research? Are you a hands on person? Do you need guidance and maybe like the structure of working at a zoo or aquarium? Do you like being on your own and may pursue a job in research and an affiliation witth an university?

Where you work is all up to you! There is no cut and dry answer to your question. Follow your interests and see where they take you!

That's a hard question because there are so many different fields and such in Marine Biology. I mean there is quite a bit of field research in some cases because you can't just sit at a desk all day and find out about new species etc. i would get in contact with a college that you would like to do your Marine Biology courses at and start your research there. You can't some up this field as just sitting at a desk and doing equations all day. It just doesn't work that way.

Some technicians that work for marine biologists spend nearly all their time working in water, but the marine biologists themselves generally split their time between the field, lab (sometimes), office, and sometimes classrooms (if they are a college professor that has to teach).

Most of their time is spent in a lab and at a desk. A small percentage is spent on or in the water.
