A rotational axis is directed perpendicular to the plane of a square and is located as shown in the drawing. Two forces, 1 and 2, are applied to diagonally opposite corners, and act along the sides of the square, first as shown in part a and then as shown in part b of the drawing. In each case the net torque produced by the forces is zero. The square is one meter on a side, and the magnitude of 2 is 3 times that of 1. Find the distances a and b that locate the axis. Note that a and b are not drawn to scale.

I'm not sure where to begin with this question. Can someone give me some tips? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

A solid circular disk has a mass of 1.2 kg and a radius of 0.19 m. Each of the three identical thin rods has a mass of 0.12 kg. The rods are attached perpendicularly to the plane of the disk at its outer edge to form a three-legged stool.Find the moment of inertia of the stool with respect to an axis that is perpendicular to the plane of the disk at its center. (Hint: When considering the moment of inertia of each rod, note that all of the mass of each rod is located at the same perpendicular distance from the axis.)

How would you go about doing this?

I'd appreciate any help.

I have 5 integrals that I'm working on and I need everyone's help on these problems thank you very much who can answer these.
#1. The indefinite integral of (dx)/(1+sinx+cosx). (Hint: Let u= tan(x/2).
#2. The indefinite integral of (sqrt Tanx) dx
#3. The indefinite integral of sqrt(x-1)/sqrt(x+1) * 1/x^2 dx
#4. The indefinite integral of (dx)/(x^6-1).
#5. The indefinite integral of (x^2-1)/(x^4+3x^3+5x^2+3x+1) dx

Please I want to know every little detail of what you did in each part of the problem not just the answer. Once again I thank you for helping me if anyone should solve these integrals.

Toluene, C7H8, is used in the manufacture of explosives such as TNT (trinitrotoluene). A 1.500 g sample of liquid toluene was placed in a bomb calorimeter along with excess oxygen. When the combustion of the toluene was initiated, the temperature of the calorimeter rose from 25.000°C to 26.413°C. The products of the combustion are CO2(g) and H2O(l), and the heat capacity of the calorimeter was 45.06 kJ°C-1. The reaction was
C7H8(l) + 9O2(g) 7CO2(g) + 4H2O(l).

1) The number of joules liberated by reaction of the 1.500 g of toluene is __?___.

2) The number of joules that would be liberated under similar conditions if 1.000 mol of toluene were burned is __?___.

If you could explain or show work, greatly appreciated. Thank you!

1.) Find the area of the region bounded by the given curve:
r= e^theta
on the interval:
(6/3)pi is less or equal to Theta is less or equal to 2pi

2.)Find the area of the region bounded by:
r = 8 - 5sintheta

3.) Find the area of the region inside:
r = 9sintheta
but outside:
r = 4

4.) Find the area of the region bounded by:
r = 10cos2theta

5.) Find the area of the region bounded by:
r^2 = 72cos2theta

6.) Find the area inside the loop of the following limacon:
r = 10 - 20sintheta

7.) Find the area of the region outside:
r = 5 + 5sintheta
but inside:
r = 15sintheta

Thanks! Any help on how any of these are done would be awesome!!!
