The teacher offered $20 to the first student to solve these equations for x and y. Just how generous was the teachers offer? Show working.

I have this assignment to come up with a design of a robot that is 6 inches wide. It has to climb 4 stairs 4 inchs up, 6 inches in depth, and 2 ft across. it has to since a line perpendicular to the riser before moving to the second step, a 2 inch hole beofre moving to the third step, and the a red led light before moving to the fourth and final step. this cannot leave the surface so it rules out going air born, and it has to be fully autonomous. We can use any vex parts, so others if we can justify it, but there is not point in transmitters since we cant use a remote controll.. I can seem to think of a good design I feel confident would complete the task of climbing the stairs and finding this things all on its own. any help ya'll could offer me would be great! thanks

Question: Suppose you know that the series SUM(bn) from n=1 to infinity converges. What can you say about the series SUM(bn^n) from n=1 to infinity?
Answer: I believe the series converges absolutely by the ROOT test since limit |bn|=0 as n goes to infinity for a convergent series.

I’m looking for a short list of the best places in the West (California, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Hawaii, and Alaska) for the novice or family to go stargazing. Any ideas? These places should be fairly accessible to the average family and offer facilities or programs for the stargazing beginner/novice. These places can be observatories, national parks, dark but accessible regions, star parties/events, etc.

Second, I’m looking for a longer list of places specifically for California.

Finally, are there any important astronomical events happening in January or February that novices should know about (Mars, meteor shower, etc.)?

Thank you for your ideas!!

The big fire in Southern California got me really thinking of fire prevention. As a country we have been practising fire surpression for almost a century. Should we have a better fire prevention program? I mean, one from the grass root? Can I lit a fire in my backyard when I know a big wet storm in coming?
