This is driving me nuts. Any math wizz answer this for me please:

Why am I getting different deviation values when I work it out on paper than when I use excel. Heres the problem:

Average: 50.08
5 tests: 50.11, 50.08, 50.10, 50.07, 50.05

By hand I get: .0239791576
With excel I get .023874673

Am I working this out right? What did you get when you did both? Thanks in advance.

I dont know what it is. It's in my heart (or my left chest if you will) and my shoulder, and I cant sleep because it hurts so much. The pain is connected. I feel it when I breath and move my left shoulder or chest. It didnt start until after swimteam practice today and Im a little scared because I have no idea what it is. Both my parents are unavailable at the moment, and its too late at night to call someone. I cant sleep it hurts so much, I dont know what to do. Advice?

Do you think it's possible that after about, say, a few million more years of evolution a brain could develop telekinetic ability? Are there any legitimate scientific reasons to believe this could happen?

I'm asking because I'm trying to write a science fiction story. But I don't want my story to be completely absurd. I want it to be at least somewhat plausible.

A spring is compressed between two toy cars (m1 = 120 g, m2 = 180 g), which are placed on the floor and released. It takes the spring 0.064 s to push the cars apart, after which they move directly away from each other, car 1 at a constant speed of 2.4 m/s.

(a) Calculate car 2’s speed after the spring is fully relaxed.
(b) Calculate the average force the spring exerted on car 1 while pushing the cars apart.

In how many countries was the metric system simply accepted based on its own merits. Not just by scientist, engineers, teachers and politicians, but by the nation as a whole.

A pulley is attached to the ceiling. Spring scale A is attached to the wall and a rope runs horizontally from it and over the pulley. The same rope is then attached to spring scale B. On the other side of scale B hangs a 120-N weight. What are the readings of the two scales A and B? The weights of the scales are negligible.

These are the choices I have narrowed it down to:
A.) A reads 0; B reads 120N
B.) Both scales read 120N
C.) A reads 120 N; B reads 0
