How do you find the values of x and y?
100 = 6x+7y. where x+y=15?

I know the answers, but can't do the figuring. I need to apply this formula to other equations and need to know how to "do the work". Thanks in advance!

Umm im writing this post becuase last night i got pretty freaked out while i was laying in bed. The lights were off but my vision was completely adapted to the darkness so i could pretty much make out everthing in the room fine.
While i was laying there umm its kinda hard to explain but what looked kinda like a ''disturbance'' in the room. At first i just thought ok its the night playing tricks on me so i decided to try and go back to sleep. Being my usual paranoid self i decided to open my eyes as i usually do since i dont really sleep much ne way. The disturbance ill call it was in a different spot and this kinda worried me a little bit. I decided to play asleep and closed one eye and kept the other open just to see if ne thing would happen and well it kinda did. (cont in add details)

A test rocket is fired vertically upward from a well. A catapult gives it initial speed 80.0m/s at ground level. its engines then fire and it accelerates upward at 4.00m/s^2 until it reached the attitude of 1000m. At that point its engines fail and the rocker goes into free-fall. with the acceleration of -9.80m/s^2

a) how long is the rocket in motion above the ground
b) what is its maximum altitude?
what is its velocity just before it collides with the earth?

for all this you need to consider the motion while the engine is operating separately from the free fall motion

beeb 2 are showing a show at the moment called the cosmos for begginers, on one of the shows they said some scientists in Geniva were trying to recreate the big bang, now i'm sure they are doing it on a microscopic scale but since no one really knows what happend how can anyone say that doing it on a microscopic scale is safe(what if it happend on a micro scale in the first place) say they manage to recreate it, would that not only destroy Earth and the solar system in a matter of milliseconds but the galaxy aswell, is this something we should be trying to do? your thoughts!!!
