it blends in with leaves...and i live in chicago. it has 6 legs, looks like a grasshopper has red eyes and its wings are like leaves.

my sister said it made a clicking noise and she found it in her room. she attempted to kill it..but it didnt die. its guts are gushed out of its body. and it still moves. it was hurt a half hour ago and still hasnt died. its moving more and more as time goes by but barely... im just wondering wat it is.. is it a catydid?

its the size of a full grown grasshopper..about 2 inches in length including wings. a couple of weeks ago this really tiny bug jumped on me the size of a pea and its wings were raindrop shaped. it hops really far too.. what was that bug??

IT IS NOT A GRASSHOPPER. I KNOW ONLY THAT.

As a kid, I loved breaking into old pieces of technology like radios and alarm clocks, just to see how they work. These days, the only innards I ever get to play with are the insides of computers.

But right now, I'm dissembling a LCD screen and was warned that there are cold cathode tubes with mercury vapor inside of it, and breaking it could cause the mercury vapors to leak. That's dangerous!

Is it safe to continue my hobby of messing around with the insides of technology? Or should I just leave that stuff alone, and leave it to the professionals?
