I just moved into an apartment (well, it's a section of a house) and the bath has sliding doors. On the slider where the rollers are, there is quite a bit of mold and stuff that has collected over the years and I really would like to get rid of it. I've tried traditional cleaning agents...including comet, and even let it sit there over night but it doesn't do anything.

Is there any time of acid I can make easily that will burn through that gunk? I figured it'd be more fun to make it. I heard you can buy HCl but it's like $100 for a gallon but I don't have that kind of money.

Any ideas from genius chemists out there would be helpful : )

(I tried searching on Google but I only found forums where everyone would just say "vomit" and other stupid answers.

Example, lets say we're in space. And, instead of going down to earth, we try and go under it.

Where will that take us?

(Thanks for your input).

36.0g of steam at 100.0 degrees celcius was condensed to water and cooled to 25 degrees celcius. Find the heat released (in kJ)

I have the data for heat of fusion of ice (6.01 kJ/mol), the heat of vaporization of water (40.65 kJ/mol), and the specific heat Capacity of ice, water and steam. I DONT however have the heat of condensation of steam... and I'm really not sure how to find it. I know its a total energy problem, so kinetic energy + potential energy --> answer (total energy). The answer to the entire problem is given (92.5 kJ) but I dont know how to get it.

Any help is VERY much appreicated! My diploma exam is on monday!

It looks like it's going to be a clear night tonight and I want to do some astrophotography. Does anyone have some suggestions of some good DSO's seen from the continental USA? My last shots were of M101 and M5, and I was thinking that M31 should be high enough by midnight to photograph. Or I could try to get some shots of the Perseids. Any other sugestions? I'm using a 300mm f/5 telephoto with my Canon Rebel XT to photograph the DSO's.
