The Sun's luminosity in the visible spectrum is due to its high temperature. The high temperature is due to nuclear fusion continuously occurring in the Sun's core.

The yellow-white hue of the Sun's light is caused by the intensity of the emitted light being strongest in the yellow part of the spectrum.

This page describes the relationship between temperature and color of a glowing object:

The sun is a ball of gasses heated to incandescence by a thermonuclear reaction. The color of its light is an effect, rather than a cause, of the sun's luminosity.
