Basically I received an e-mail from some co- workers. I don't know if it's true or not but it sounds interesting. But I don't want to be outside just standing arounding with my head to the sky and nothing happens. They stated that Mars will be the brightest star starting in August. It will end on Aug. 27th when Mars will actually be visible about 34.65 miles away from Earth. It will appear we have two moons. The next time this may appear is year 2287. Fact or Fiction?

An airplane is flying with a speed of 285 km/h at a height of 3500 m above the ground. A parachutist whose mass is 77.6 kg, jumps out of the airplane, opens the parachute immediately and then lands on the ground with a speed of 3.45 m/s. How much energy was dissipated on the parachute by the air friction? The drag constant of the parachute is 64.0 N/(m/s)^2.

I assume you find the total energy lost but I dont know what to do from there

I was watching a Discovery Channel show about the geography of America. Of course, many of our features were shaped by the glaciers receeding when the last Ice Age ended. The show repeatedly mentions the receeding glaciers, but they do not explain why the Earth's temperature changed. So, what caused the end of the last Ice Age? Are there many theories or just one?
