Do you ever think if there are intelligent beings 50 million light years away talking, thinking, and having similar thoughts such as we have? earth seems so insignificant compared to our galaxy.

From a scientific point of view- Likely, considering organic materials have been found forming in places such as Nebulas and moons. If the ingredients are common, the right environment has to come along at least once in a galaxy.

From a Religious point of view- Why wouldn't God put life on another planet? That's like asking, "Why would someone have more than one fish tank?" Maybe He has a plan with us, and the other planets. I believe so.

There is "Drakes formula" which takes into account of the number of galaxies, the number of stars in these galaxies, the probability of planets orbiting these stars in the "Goldilocks zone", the probability of life and the probability of this life being intelligent. It basically states that there must be some intelligence as it's mathematically impossible for intelligent life not to be out there.

Sometimes I do.

Earth may be small, but it is not insignificant! It is definitely significant. And we really don't know if there is life anywhere else in the universe. There probably is, but if there isn't, then Earth is definitely the MOST significant part of the universe. Because then we would be the part of the universe that allows it to know itself.

I tend to go with Jodie Fosters line in the movie "Contact". It would seem to be a waste of space if there wasn't more life in the universe! ;-)=

Anything is possible and I wouldn't rule it out.
