Not counting man like you said... the cake more or less goes to hippos. And yes hippos are far more dangerous than sharks.

However on the dangerous list you will also find some species of bear, elephant, some species of big cats, several species of jellyfish and water buffalo. But that is just the "big" stuff and does not include the smaller more dangerous creatures like snakes, spiders, parasites and so on and so forth.

assuming you mean other than a human being.

i would have to go with the creature which can deliver the toxin which is the most difficult to counteract.

Poison dart frogs, also called poison-arrow frogs or simply poison frogs, belong to the Dendrobatidae family. This family is split into four genera: Epipedobates, Colostethus, Dendrobataes, and Phyllobates. Recent studies have included additional genera, Allobates and Minyobates, however these hew divisions have not been officially accepted as a divison of the Dendrobatidae family. (Summers 6227) While each genera has general distinctions, there are many intraspecific differences, including coloration, habitat, and behavior. Colostethus is also known as the “false poison frog” because it is the least toxic, if at all, of the amphibians. (Heselhaus 13) Phyllobates, on the other hand, is the most toxic genus. Phyllobates terribilis is the most toxic animal on Earth. Simply touching it may potentially cause death.

Embre and Choco Indians from Colombia use the poison secreted from the skin of P. terribilis, as well as other poison dart frogs, to poison their blowgun darts. The darts are wiped over the backs of poison dart frogs after heating them over a fire. The heat causes the poison to moisten the back and becomes easily accessible. Once a dart is poisoned, the dart remains lethal for up to two years.

but the quantity necessary to kill a human may be large enough to render this creature less dangerous than some venomous snakes.

Lone Wolf is correct. Far more people are killed by insect borne diseases, mostly vectored by mosquitoes, than are killed by all the sharks, crocodiles, poisonous snakes, spiders, hippos, lions, and killer rabbits combined.

After the disease-bearing insects, come the domestic animals. Because humans have more contact with these animals on a day to day basis, they result in a lot more fatalities - usually through accidents, than any predation by wild animals.

Dogs actually kill hundreds to thousands of people worldwide every year. Most of them (75%) under the age of twelve. Many thousands more are injured or maimed by them. Of all vertebrates except man, dogs are responsible for the most human injuries and fatalities.

Cattle also kill a lot of people every year. Not surprisingly, most of them are people who work with cattle.

Horses, or accidents that occur while riding horses, are next.

The wild critters generally considered 'dangerous man-killers' like sharks, hippoes, tigers and cobras are way, way down the list in terms of how many deaths and injuries they cause. In an average year, more people are killed by bad potato salad than most of the 'dangerous' critters.

Of the wild critters, the highest mortality is probably from king cobras, especially in India. The high population density, and relative poverty of most rural areas means that contact with the snakes is high, and access to effective antivenin is limited. Although they may not necessarily be the most poisonous, or even the most aggressive snakes, they cause a lot of injury just through the large number of interactions with humans.

OK, yes Hippos are dangerous to humans, so are Poison Arrow Frogs, as well as venomous snakes, and spiders.

However, the insects, namely flies and mosquitos are the most deadly, but......Not the deadliest...

Let's go smaller, bacteria is also living and can be deadly, there are so many diseases caused by this one, but they are also helpful to us, so much so, that we could not survive without bacteria, but.....

Let's go smaller yet, the most deadly creature on this planet and the one that has the ability to wipe out human population is the virus. The smallest of living creatures is also the most deadly to humans. They have the innate ability to mutate, and mutate very quickly. HIV, Ebola, Dengue Fever, Hemorrhagic Fevers are all caused by viruses. Many have "mutated" into forms that are not vulnerable to our defenses.

This is the creature that most worries me!!!!!!

Black mamba's are definitely the most deadly but I think if full grown ligers were released into the wild that they would kill and eat anything. Ligers have the ferocity of a lion and the size and stealth of a tiger. Hippos would snap a shark in half if they were fast enough, but the shark would tear a hippo to shreds.

In the past century there have been 619 attacks by sharks resulting in 134 fatalities in non air or sea disasters by the primary species of sharks that attack people. Hippos attack and kill 100 people a year in Africa. In 2000, there were 79 shark attacks, 11 of them fatal.

An Honorable Mention, at least, should go to the Honey Badger of Africa. Think of a wolverine on steroids.

humans are the most dangerous as they are responsible for the extinction and endangered status of many other animals, also has the capasity to destroy the whole planet with nuclear devices.

I would answer....a shark, for no other reason than sharks have lifeless eyes, "like doll's eyes..." and more humans tend to be injured by shark atacks than hippo attacks.
