Eight-year-old B.J. has had asthma for 2 years since he had acute bronchitis. He is tested for allergies and demonstrated marked responses to a number of animals, pollens and molds. B.J. also has a history of asthma related to exposure to very cold weather.
Please include references.

Describe the pathophysiology of an acute asthma attack in B. J. following exposure to cats.
Describe the early signs of an acute asthma attack and relate each of these to the changes taking place in the lungs.
State and explain the effects of a prolonged asthma attack.
Explain the factors contributing to severe hypoxia and acidosis in a prolonged attack.
Define status asthmaticus.
Explain why B. J. is likely to have frequent respiratory infections.
Suggest several measures that B. J. can take to reduce anxiety and perhaps the risk of an asthma attack.
Explain why a beta2-adrenergic agent is helpful in treating asthma and how it is usually administered.

Mr. C.Y., age 71, has had significant emphysema for 6 years. He has reduced his cigarette smoking since mild congestive heart failure was diagnosed (right sided). He has been admitted to the hospital with a suspected closed pneumothorax and respiratory failure.

1.Describe the pathophysiologic changes in the lungs with emphysema, and explain how these affect oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the blood.
2.Explain the possible role of smoking in Mr. C.Y.’s case and its general effects on respiratory function (consider effects on cardiovascular function also).
3.Would significant characteristics related to emphysema and heart failure would you expect to observe in Mr. C.Y.
4.Explain how a pneumothorax has probably occurred in the presence of emphysema.
5.Explain how a pneumothorax has precipitated respiratory failure, using the effects of lung function and gas exchange in your answer. Include the criteria for respiratory failure.
6.Explain why caution must be exercised in administering oxygen to Mr. C.Y.
Mr. C.Y. is resting quietly. Suggest three complications of immobility that could develop in Mr. C.Y.
Explain how congestive heart failure develops from emphysema.

Please help me with these two problems. I need to know quickly if possible.

If Sarah Can do a job in 5hrs and Dick and Sarah working together can do the same job in 2 hours, find how long it takes Dick to do the job alone.

The numerator of a fraction is 4 less than the denominator. If both the numerator and denominator are increased by 2, the resulting fraction is equivalent to 2/3. Find the fraction.

Bill graduated from USC in 1949 with a degree in English (Science was not offered). He was employed with Rocketdyne from 1957-1963 as a file clerk (he never worked for NASA). After, he made his living as a self published writer. He wrote books on cooking and travel, and conspiracies. These include We never went to the moon, Neither did the Russians, We went and met aliens, We went and met Nazi's, NASA murdered the Apollo 1 crew, NASA murdered the Challenger crew, a variety of Howard Hughes stories, and a bizarre retelling of the Apollo 13 story. In 1981 he self published a book called "We Never Went to the Moon", based on the 1978 movie, Capricorn One. His book was quickly forgotten. Kasing tried to sue their publisher, claiming they changed their copyright date and stolen his idea. The case was thrown out of court. In 2001, Fox TV aired a special rehashing his long debunked potboiler. The theory caught on with a whole new generation who had no memory of the Moon Landings.

I am not sure how i would set this up to figure it out. Would I use the frequency of red-light and caluclate it with 3x10^8 m/s for visible light? But how would I factor in the 0.001 mm, I would compare...? Thanks...

I know that the regions of the planet with highest NPP are swamps and marshes on land, and regions of the ocean prone to algal blooms. So that'd be deltas and the like, I guess.

But is there any one particular plant with the highest NPP? Is it even really measurable on a species-by-species basis?

I'm trying to make use of the definite integral property

My equation was x^2dx evaluated between 2 and -2.

Here is my math. Let me know if it's right.
x^2dx=1/3 x^3

evaluated: (1/3 2^3)-(1/3 (-2)^3)=8/3+8/3=16/3

Did i do this correctly?

This is the last question that I'm going to ask on Telescopes as I'm getting fed up.I am not eniterly convinced that the Meade ETX90 is a powerful telescope,it just seems really small and plus the images that they show on the Meade website are not entirely covincing either. The images of some planets are very blurry, and I'd want it to be detailed enough to see bands on the Planets surface. Also the Telescope appears to very small.I can accept the fact that I'm probably not going to have a RCX400,seing as the starting price for that is $5,000!,but sometime in the future when I have a job of my own,I'll buy one.The only better Schmidt Cassegrain I found was the 8"LX90GPS Meade and that costs $1,999,take that $1,999 and convert it into £s and you get £983.42 .This is under £1,000,What I want to know is,is an 8" LX90GPS good enough to see Galaxys and Planets in some detail, without beong blurry?

3. 8 (2y square + y + 1)

4. (7x square - 8x + 6) - (2x square + x-3)

This stuff has to do with polynomials I think adding, subtracting and multiplying, hope someone knows them cause this stuff is due tommorow.
