Perform the indicated operations told and make sure to show work so I know what to do.

1. (3b square + 7b + 5) + (3b - 8)

2. ( 6x cubed - 4x square+3) + (-2x cubed+7x square - 5

3. 8 (2y square + y + 1)

4. (7x square - 8x + 6) - (2x square + x-3)

This stuff has to do with polynomials I think adding, subtracting and multiplying, hope someone knows them cause this stuff is due tommorow.

Also please show how you got the answer too, I don't know if my answers are right but for number 1 I got
10b+ -3 + 3b square

I also got for number two
4 cubed+ 3 square+ -2

I hope I did it right but if not tell me.

Cool I got the same answers when I did it the way I did it

8(2y square+y+1)

I took 8 times 2 and then added the square which is 16 square then I did 8 times y which is 8y and then 8 times 1 is 1 I used the distributive property, I get the hang of it just been trying to see if got the same answer then figuring out where went wrong. Cause had wondered on number 4 how the heck someone got 18 when I got 5x square minus 9x plus 9.

1. (3b^2 + 7b + 5) +(3b - 8) = 3b^2 + 10b -3

2. (6x^3 - 4x^2 + 3) + (-2x^3 + 7x^2 - 5) = 4x^3 + 3x^2 - 2

3. 8 (2y^2 + y + 1) = 16y^2 + 8y + 8

4. (7x^2 - 8x + 6) - (2x^2 + x - 3) = 5x^2 - 9x +18

Well, that's it in a nutshell. What concerns me more though is that you "THINK" you are adding, subtracting, and multiplying. However, you seem unsure. You have to know what they are dealing with exactly... before you can even attempt to do them. No wonder you are having trouble!

By the way... based on your additional comments... you are definitely on the right track. *phew!* Had me worried there... but I'm glad to see that you have the hang of them...

1. (3b^3+7b+5)+(3b-8) = 3b^3+7b+5 +3b-8 = 3b^3 + 10 b -3
2. ( 6x ^3 - 4x ^2+3) + (-2x ^3+7x ^2 - 5 ) =
6x ^3 - 4x ^2+3-2x ^3+7x ^2 - 5 = 4x^3 + 3x^2 -2
3. 8 (2y ^2 + y + 1) = 8*2y ^2+8*y+8*1= 16y^2+8y+8
4. (7x ^2 - 8x + 6) - (2x ^2+ x-3) = 7x ^2 - 8x + 6 - 2x ^2 -x +3 =
5x^2 -9x +9
