Why are there almost no waves in the Mediterranean sea (Greece) during the night while there are quite big waves during the day?? Any suggestions?

Sea waves are almost always caused by wind.

During the night there is less atmospheric heating caused by the sun, so the wind settles down, and so do the waves.
