Here f is a function that returns the number of times a number is wholly divisible by 2, i.e. the number of times a number is divisible by 2 until it becomes an odd number.

Assumptions:

f accepts only zero or a positive integer
If x = 0 or x is an odd number then f(x) = 0

a, b and n are positive integers
a, b are odd
n is even
a > b

I would very much appreciate methods for this kind of problem. Thanks in advance!

I studied this theory when I was in college. I need further explanation.--If we are able to travel faster than light and if we get into the space detaching from earth and at one point if we turn back we could be able to see the events which occured on the earth. Because the events' images are not vanished. They also travel through space. Is it possible? Kindly explain.

Find the dimension of the rectangle plus the triangle, to the nearest tenth of a metre, that was maximize the area he can enclose for the play area.

2. The daigram of a practice field shows a rectangle with a semicircle at each end. The track and field coach wants two laps around the field to be in 1000m. The physical education deparement needs a rectangluar field that is as large as possible.

a) Determine the dimensions of the track that will maximize the entire enclosed area. Do these dimensions meet the needs of the track coach and the phys. ed. department?

b) if only the rectanglular portion of the field is maximized, can the track team run the 100m dash along a straight part of the track? Justify ur answer.

I am writing this new question after realizing that I did not use correct terminology the last time I tried to ask this question.

Again, Aristotle says in his Posterior Analytics, a treatise on logic and knowing, that "we say we know something truly, and not in the manner of the sophist, when we know the cause, that it is the cause, and that it can not be any other way." My hesitation in accepting abiogenesis stems from the fact that I don't see how life can come from things that aren't alive themselves. What was said in the answers to the previous question I asked was that the right mixture of proteins and a lightning bolt could produce amino acids. This still leaves the problem of the amino acids forming into strands of DNA and becoming an organized, living body.

Meeting the three conditions laid down by Aristotle for knowing, explain to me how life can come from things that aren't alive.

I hope the terminology meets with general approval.
