SAT Math problem help needed!?

1) The water is in a rectangular tank whose base is 2feet by 6feet. If a rectangular solid whose dimensions are 1 foot by 1foot by 2 feet is totally immersed in the water, how many inches will the water rise?

2) A piece of wire is bent to form a circle of radius 3 feet. How many pieces of wire, each 2 feet long, can be made from the wire?

Do we really conserve the environment by doing stuff on the 'computer' rather than by using 'paper'?

Eg. Some people tell us to send e-greetings instead of regular cards, because we then consume less paper.

But computers are still made from plastic (petroleum), and it and networks run on electricity which still puts a burden on resources.

evolution question to all serious evolutionists: Evolution vs Wrong Option?

Evolution was once supposed to be a placeholder, a theory, until scientists could provide an explanation, and an unequivocal proof of how we got here. Why has it become The Answer? Why are scientists, of all people, so closed minded to other possibilities? Fossils and DNA shows POSSIBLE linkages. Yet, it seems that they're building one theory on top of another, without first validating the first theory.

No one knows how we got here. It is simply impossible to determine. The answer to this question is not yet conceivable by any scientists, or religious leader. Why do evolutionists insist that evolution is the obvious answer?

Partial order proof problem?

proof or disproof

1) If R and R' are partial orders on A, then R U R' is a partial order on A

2) If R and R' are equivalence relations on A, then R U R' is an equivalence relation on A

For the first question, I think it is true but not sure how to prove it. Since R and R' are partial orders on A, then that means every element in A is reflexive, asymmetric and transitive with each other in A.

For the second question, I can't think of anything yet.
