An e-greeting may be more eco-friendly but they are a source of data mining. When you send a greeting, they get your e-mail and the recipient's e-mail. They're free because the minimal cost of keeping the server active and not printing paper is more than covered by the sale of your personal information. Did you ever wonder why spam increases after you send or receive one of these cards?

True, but the same computer can do several jobs. So, sending a e-greeting is definitely environmentally friendly.
