I have a question regarding the energy needed to raise an electron a level (from level 2 to level 3). I'm pretty sure you use the equation (E = -Rhc/n^2) but I'm not sure which number to put into the "n" value, and better yet, I'm getting an answer that isn't on the sheet for either using 2 or 3 for the n value! Is there something wrong w/ this equation or am I doing something wrong?

A 1.20 kg toaster is not plugged in. The coefficient of static friction between the toaster and a horizontal countertop is 0.370. To make the toaster start moving, you carelessly pull on its electric cord. For the cord tension to be as small as possible, you should pull at what angle above the horizontal?

I'm an author. I have a character who is being held hostage in a garage. It's winter in Merced California so it could get down to freezing but more likely will be low 40's at night to mid 50's in the daytime. He is restrained in a chair so can't move around. Need an idea how long before his core temp would drop below 95 degrees. Might there be an equation for figuring this. Where might I look for an answer?

I know the answer to this exercise but I am not sure which are the values that were used to come to that answer.

Ok I have to find this limit.

lim (x^2-3x+1)
x->2

The answer is -1/2

but I need the values for that answer, that are the numbers that are closer to -1, and that's where I am stuck. I need at least 4 values. I think is 0.099, 0.99, etc....but I am not getting the correct answer which is suppose to give -1/2.

Please help. Thanks.

The mathematical point makes mathematics absurd and meaningless . The mathematical point is a non dimentional nothing and as such it dont exist. Calculus sums all these points-that dont exist -along aline to give something -its leangth But this is absurd and self-contradictory so calculus is and absurd meaningless method -which gives resulkts -but is in fact built on an imposiblity ie suming nothings That is why this author says mathematics is meaningless What do you think
