I need help understanding intermolecular forces and a lot of it has to do with whether it is nonpolar or polar and i need help understanding how to determine whether a molecule is polar or nonpolar is there a system like one is usually nonmetal w/ metal or something i thought i learned that before?

is this the correct answer?

solve 6ln (4x+2) = 30 for x

ln4x + 2 = 5

e^ln4x+2 = e^5

or would i have to simplify that even more to..
e^5 - (4x+2) = x

Heres two other questions i got wrong on my test, you guys really helped w/ my last one thanks!

1. A metal container filled with gas Z is placed in ice. What will happen to the pressure of the gas? what will happen to the volume? Why?
