During nuclei fission, large nuclei with high masses are split into two nuclei with smaller masses. During nuclear fission, two nuclei with low masses are combined to form one nucleus of larger mass. How are the two processes similar? ( i hate "think critically" questions)

Estimate the asymptotic efficiency of a rocket (or other launch vehicle - Saturn V, Delta, Ariane, Space Shuttle, whatever). A rough estimate would be ok.

As in: what proportion of the total chemical energy in the fuel at launch is ultimately converted into gravitational potential energy + kinetic energy of the launch vehicle/payload?
(To get that PE I expect you integrate Newton's Law of Gravitation, from ground to final altitude, using only the mass of the payload. To get the KE you need to know the final velocity components - is that radial and tangential to the earth orbit?)

For a bonus, what was the single biggest cause of inefficiency, and can you quantify it? (I think it is lifting your own fuel, followed by air resistance)

(I don't just mean the engine efficiency of the engine, I mean the whole deal.)

(Not sure where to put it - this question is a little chemistry, a little physics and a little astronomy)

Sally is a surveyor in the badlands in South Dakota. At point A on the south side of a deep canyon, she sights across to a fire tower on the north side of the canyon at point B. Then she moves a measured 500 feet along the south rim of the canyon to a point C on a line perpendicular to her original sight line AB. Setting up her transit again, she finds that her line of sight, CB, to the tower is 84 degrees. Correct to the nearest whole foot, how far is point C from the tower?

What mappingrule describes the transformation of graph 1 onto graph 2?

Graph 1's points are: (0,0),(-1,1),(1,1),(-2,4)(2,4)
Graph 2's points are:(-6,3)(-8,3)(-7,-5)

(x,y) --> (x+5, -1/2y - 7)
(x,y) --> (x+5, -2y + 7)
(x,y) --> (x-7, -1/2y - 5)
(x,y) --> (x-7, -2y + 5)

How exactly would you figure it out? Any help?

Also: for domain and range of a function (not related to the above question), what is the easiest possible way to find the domain, range, or both, to a function? How would you write it? Thanks :)

a) calculate the number of pupils to be sampled from year 10.

two pupils are to be chosen at randon to speak to the headteacher.

one pupil is to be chosen from year 10.
one pupil is to be chosen from year 11.

b) calculate the probability that both pupils will be boys.
