Or was it artificially orchestrated in an attempt to intimidate the Soviet Union, who was the first nation to put a human into space?

It has been argued that NASA did in fact orchestrate the landing on the moon in a warehouse to keep spirits high of Americans after hearing about the Soviet Union's space flight. The engineers at NASA said that the material of the rivots, that held the boosters, would crack due to the sheer weight of the Earth's gravatational pull.

Yes, Great Dane, there really was a moon landing. In fact, there were six of them, all by The United States. Twelve American men have walked (or skipped or bounced, whatever you wish to call it) on the surface of the moon. And no amount of BS pseudo-science can ever change that fact.

It was so long ago I can almost understand why young people question it.

If they had just wanted to fake it they would not have gone to all the trouble they went to leading up to it. There was the Gemini program, docking practice, they even sent the first mission and just ORBITED several times without going through with the landing.

It was very dangerous. Armstrong had to fly it in because the lander was coming down in a boulder field. They had about 40 seconds worth of fuel left when he set it down.

I was 15 at the time and believe me, they didn't fake it.

C'mon .
The shots of Neil Armstrong coming down the ladder of the LM were not up to Hollywood standards. If Hollywood actually did it the pictures would have been much better.

No, it really took place. Paranoia empowers the hoax argument.

I think that it did happen, conspiracy theories aside.

Wonder if they're preparing one of the Hollywood studios for a Mars landing??
