I'm looking for a photo(s) of something I saw when I was a kid in a history or science book, or maybe even an encyclopedia. It was a type of large "dinosaur-like" sea creature, or atleast that's what they believed it to be. It was surprisingly well preserved, and they were bringing it up out of the ocean on what, to my young mind, looked to be like a crane. I hope I'm providing enough information, but it's a memory I've never forgotten and I've always wanted to see the photo(s) again and read on it now that I'm older. I'm looking for an online link to the photos/story. Any help would be much appreciated.

I know that a^2+b^2=c^2, I know the definition of the Pythagorean Theorem, I know where and when to use it, and how to use it accurately. My question is, why does it work? What's the pattern that exists that makes the Pythagorean Theorem work with every right triangle. Why does a^2+b^2=c^2? This has been a puzzler for me for a while. Could someone explain this to me? Thanks, I appreciate any answers. :)
