It is driving me nuts!

You are given four numbers: 1 3 4 6. By using all of these numbers only once, can you get them to equal 24? You may add, subtract, multiply, or divide as much as you want. You may also use parentheses. Please help!

There should be two math question sections. One where all the retards ask their homework problems without once touching their textbooks. And another section for students who need real help.

We're supposed to write the products and balance the chemical equations... For some reason I can't get them balanced right and it's driving me crazy! Any help would be great... Here's what I've got so far...

HSO3 + K I = but I can't get it to balance.

This is a theory that is becoming more and more accepted with the scientific community. In case you aren't familiar with it, the theory states that the universe has been expanding since the big bang, and will eventually contract to produce a 'big crunch', where the universe is compressed to a singularity in about 22 billion years. The theory suggests that this action will have a rebound effect that will immediately have another big bang and this process will repeat itself, as it has been and will be for eternity. I was wondering about peoples thoughts on this?

Ok. Im having a VERY hard time figuring out the "theoretical yield of Alum." We took .997 g of aluminum scrap = .0370 mol. We ended up with 12.771 g of Alum (KAl(SO4)2 *12 H2O) which I **think** is .0269 mol (12.771g/474.2=.0269) So I took .997g * (.0370/.997)*(12.771/.0269)=17.6 However, if I take 12.771/17.6 my % yield is like 72% which CANT be right. I think Im messing up the formula and Dont know where.... Do any chemistry EXPERTS out there know what the heck Im doing wrong??? Please help me out. Thanks

At school I've only been told to type them into my calculator whenever I need to use them. They must have some sort of value, though, otherwise we wouldn't be able to get to the answer. So what are those values?
