Distill it.
In cooking, supposedly you can put a piece of raw potato (sometimes, the hint says a piece of lettuce) in food that's too salty and it takes the salt out. But I don't know if that works. I'd go with distillation.
Distillation is where you boil a liquid and then catch the vapor and condense it. In the case of salt water, the vapor would be plain water with nothing dissolved in it (the salt gets left behind in whatever you use to boil the liquid in.) Distillation is also used to make an alcoholic liquid more alcoholic. I guess the alcohol gets vaporized and condensed.

Yes you can...By using this equipment called a row-po, it is a water purifier made especially to convert sea water to tab water. Especially used by the military and you wonder why are there people dying from dehydation. O r the oldest method of taking sea water and boiling it repetidly and filtering out the salt(must be a professional)

i've heard through osmosis. I believe boiling and collecting the condensate produces fresh water too, like a still.

works like a distillery (moonshining) boil the water in a beaker tent the foil over it to cause condsation to run down filter thru the gauze and catch it on the cling wrap (laided over a bowl or something) Shiners would use coiled copper to trap the sediment and keep the temp. correct and not allow "backwash" into the cooker. However you do not have that option.
