Perhaps you don't know what the question is asking.

Rank means put in order in this case of size.

The question is asking you to put the 3 numbers in order of size, form the smallest (fewest) to largest.

Next time this happens, try typing the words you don't understand on to a word document. Right click on each in turn and select "look up".

Clearly the first number is the smallest.

Of the two starting 3 million, is six hundred thousand bigger than three hundred thousand? now you know which is second smallest and which is largest.

1) 1,179,000
2) 3,363,000
3) 3,665,000

This is how you do it.
All three of the numbers have the same amount of digits(7). If any of them had fewer than seven then that would be the smaller than the others. If any of them had more, then it would be bigger than those numbers. Now you look at the digit to the very left. The one is smaller than the threes. That means that 1,179,000 is smaller than the other two. Now the others are equal to three, so look to the digit second to the left. 3,363,000 is a 3 and 3,665,000 is a six. Which one is smaller. The three. So, 3,363,000 is the next smallest.

Since all have the same number of place holders...just find the number with the first two digits as bigger than the others....then you found your largest number. Do the same thing with the other number but look for the number with the first two digits as the lesser numbers. Then the last number left would be in the middle.
Fewest to largest:
1) 1,179,000
2) 3,363,000
3) 3,665,000
