I dont think it'll work very well - it wont matter which brand - popcorn pops faster or slower based on its humidity content - therefore how old it is.

So get different kinds of popcorn and pop them. Count how long it takes before you put them on the stove (or in the microwave) and when the popcorn starts popping. I mean, I don't know which kinds pop faster. There are differences in kernel size, in color, and in liquid content in the kernels (the liquid turns to steam and makes the kernel pop inside out to make popcorn.)

Try different brands, different colors, stuff like that. And make sure each kind is started and cooked under the same conditions. Like, start with a clean pot at room temperature. Add the same amount of measured-out oil to the pot. Put in the same number of kernels, at room temperature, and turn the stove on the same temperature (let the burner cool down between batches and use the same pot, lid, and burner.) You don't want one batch to pop faster because it had more or less oil or kernels or something like that.

I don't know that there'd be a big difference between them. But I could be wrong. So get poppin'!

the above question IS your topic. Now you have to pop different brands of popcorn and time them to see which one pops fastest. YOU have to do the work.
