I am a post bac student going back to school to fulfil the medical school requirements. I have taken ONE year of both biology and inorganic chemistry and I have credit for physics. My BA was in Economics so I have plenty of courses in English, Math and the humanities already. I am taking the MCAT in a week and want to apply to schools so I dont lose a year. My question is can you be accepted into medical school while still short on Organic Chemistry? I will take it well before Med School, and I am a very good GPA since I have been back in school (GPA=4.0). If anyone can help that would be great, thanks...

I was wondering what 10 animals cause the most human deaths (excluding humans and animals that are deadly simply because they carry diseases (mosquitoes, flies, etc.)). If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it.

Can someoneone help me to explain how to do it by given the complete solution.

1) Find a unit vector that is orthogonal to a and b where
a = 9 i - j - 2 k and b = -5 i + 2 j - 7 k .

2) Consider the line passing through the point P, whose position vector is -5 i + 10 j, and parallel to the vector -3 i - 4 j. Find a cartesian equation for the line.

3) Find the position vector of the point of intersection of lines L1, L2 with vector equations intersecting, where
L1: r = -2 i - 5 j + s (7 i + j)
L2: r = -4 i + 10 j + t (- i - 7 j)

Is it me, or does it look like something fishy is goin on? A tropical depression was about to form in the tropics recently, then all of a sudden it broke up and became disorganized. Do you think the government would secretly test a method of destroying hurricanes? It would be worth it to them, after the damage done by Katrina and all... If someone has a scientific explaination as to why the depression broke up, you'll have answered my question too.

I really know very little about the topic, but feel we are approaching the problem completely wrong.

Some of my ideas include:
1. Cutting off resource distribution (through blood vessels or other methods) to cancerous cells, essentially starving them.
2. Chemically neutralizing the "message" that tells cells to undergo cell division.
3. This one is way beyond us, but I wonder if we could ever engineer a virus to attack cancerous cells, since they would easily work on a molecular level with the DNA.
4. Triggering cell suicide somehow based on the time it takes them to divide
5. A few more that I currently consider to be unlikely...

Does anybody know where I can study more about this, and does anybody have any more ideas?

there are over 300,000,000,000 galaxy's and in each galaxy there are about 300,000,000,000 planets and stars... if you multiply those together you get a huge number... earth is only one in like 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (didn't do the math, but i know it's allot of zeros) there has got to be life out there somewhere wondering if there is anyone like them in the universe... that is only one universe.. if you believe in the multiverse there are an infinit amount of planets and stars...
