will be walking within the year and other than keeping him away from the hole, and keeping it securely covered, does anyone have any ideas on how one would make it more safe in case of an emergency, for example: if someone was working on the well, the lid was off, and by some awful chance my son fell in, any ideas on what could be used to get him out if he wasn't old enough to know to hold onto a rope? i know this is a morbid question, and we always keep it covered, but i've heard of it happening before, and the hole is small enough that if someone jumped in after him, you'd land on top of him and hurt him worse. i can't find any safety devices on-line. i'm just trying basically to "baby proof" it like you do outlets in your house. avoiding all possible avoidable catastrophes. thanks for your input!
