proton is consist of 3 subparticles(quarcks) 2 of them have the spin of +1 and one of them has the spin of -1so it has the charge of +1 because1+1+(-1)=1
notrone has 3 subparticles too 2 of them with spin of -1/2 and one of them with the spin of 1
electrone has no subparticles(not known yet) and has a spin of -1

Every atom consits of a nucleus & some electrons revolving around that. U can think of neutron as a combination of proton & electron. Then +ve & -ve charges cancles eachother & the product is the neutron with no charge.

There is no mechanism, a mechanism is a machine that has been created by man. An electron is electrically charged by the motion around the atom. A nuetron just isn't.
