"Sound" usually refers to the physical phenomena of sound, rather than to the sensation of sound. So the simple answer is "yes".
But it's a deep philosophical question if we can be sure that things took place when nobody observed them. I think that those who say "no" must realize that the consequence of this point of view is that we can't no anything at all - even things you think you observe "directly" are in fact, unconsciously, constructed from our theories of how nerve signals reaching our brain from the eyes, ears etc. are related to "real" phenomena.
The reason we think that things exist even when they are not observed is that we prefer a simple view of the World. Suppose you say "bye" to you parents and go to school, and some eight ours later you see them again and say "hallo". Did they exist in the meantime, or did they disappear and reappear? Both are in principle possible but the simpler point of view makes it easier to make predictions, which is one of the main purposes of thinking.

Sound, of course, is something that is generated by sense organs and brains. Sound propagates by longitudinal waves of compression of air molecules, but that in and of itself doesn't produce anything than the compression of air molecules along a longitudinal wave... What "creates" the sound is the airmolecules hitting the membrane of the ear, where the physical force of the impact is transferred to a lymph within the cochlea, which in turn moves the hairs of specialized receptor cells, which cause the firing of an receptor potential, which is transduced into an action potential, which is finally propagated towards the critical brain areas, where finally HEARING finds its completion. So, the right answer would be indeed, unless that gorilla is deaf...
But gorillas live and move in groups, and not farting, but burping is actually how they let one another know where they are. I therefore strongly oppose to your stinking question and demand its reformulation into "If a gorilla belches in the woods and there's noone there to hear it, does it make a sound?"
Farting, really... What is this, the Sesame Question Category? everyone knows they burp...

Well the gorilla has good hearing, and can hear it, so it makes a sound, and the gorilla can probably smell it as well.
;-D Depends on what the gorilla was eating as well.

First you need to be asking is the tree relatively there. Am i for my section right here. Is sound in basic terms a figment of my own tortured international. Am I typing to an existence it incredibly is genuine or in my techniques. If each little thing is genuine and not in basic terms your techniques becoming it than...of direction the tree makes a valid. If each little thing is created via your techniques than... That tree ought to become a butterfly because it falls. Or it could make a valid ...it relatively is as much as you:) yet i admire TallGreen extraterrestrial beings answer greater effectual!

It all depends on the fart!!
If its an SBD (Silent But Deadly) then No it wont make a noce & noone will bare witness.
If its a LAD (Loud & Dangourouse) then it'll be a noice but there wont be any one to prove it,
If it's like the 1 I just did; the answer is 'YES'

no , it doesnt. if there are NO animals there to process the vibrations in the air, no one will interpret them and the idea of sound cant exist without a brain to process the vibrations
