24,902 miles x 5,280 feet/mile = 131,482,560 feet

131,482,560 feet x 12 in/ft = 1,577,790,720 inches

That's about 1.5 billion inches!

Since there are about 6 billion people on this planet, everyone could own a quarter-inch of the equator. How's that? Which quarter-inch would you like to own?

It varies depending on where you measure it. The earth bulges in the middle. In general there are 360 degrees in a circle. 360 degrees around the earth. Each degree is 60 minutes. each minute is a nautical mile. a nautical mile is 1.18 statute miles.t. 5280 feet in a mile and 12 inches in a foot.
