if someone takes liquid codeine for the first time and it tastes really good and familiar, does that mean they probably really did have it before?

only oppose evolution because we "fear" that it means that God isn't real? God is powerful enough to do evolution, and if someone believes in him, they will have no problem accepting evolution if there is evidence, right? So has anyone thought that it might be on scientific grounds that they oppose evolution? What are the evidences for evolution?

I am working on my college chemistry class and I am stuck on these questions.

At 2.00 m from a radioactive source the intensity of its gamma radiation is 307 roentgen. What is the intensity at a distance of 37.6m?

At 3.00 m from a radioactive source the intensity of its gamma radiation is 230 roentgen. How far away would we need to be to breduce the intensity to 5.19 roentgen?

I am looking for some suggestions on a really good experimental power supply I can buy for some simple benchtop experiments. Can someone recommend a good one or a good supplier?

I went to a surplus store, and they had a brand new single for $200 with 5A/ 0-30V DC with meters...The guy said AC ones are hard to get.
I wasn't that impressed.

I wonder if they sell ones that can do 0-120v DC and AC (adjustable frequency, etc)? Dual? In sort of the same price range.
Or would I have to build circuits do to this? Maybe I need a signal generator instead?

It seems strange they wouldn't have a good one like this on the market for a reasonable price, that can do a lot of stuff.
I got a great digital multimeter for example for 80 bucks that can do just about anything.

I have an EE degree, but haven't touched the stuff in 15 years. (done only software stuff). I would like to try some very simple experiments and play with diodes, coils, and transistors

Thanks for any pointers!

I have looked in the English dictionary and it defines a Mathematician as a student or expert of Mathematics. Or someone whose job involves Mathematics.

I have an honours degree (2.1) in Mathematics but I don't consider myself to be a Mathematician.

To me a Mathematician is somebody like Carl Friedrich Gauss, Isaac Newton, Leonhard Euler and the like.

Please give your opinion

I'd like to know what the chemical formula of this mineral is. Or is it a combination or variety of other minerals? If so, what are they and what are their chemical formulas?
Also, what colors does it come in, and what chemical compounds or elements make it those colors?
Anything else you can tell me is appreciated.

one evolution concept is that single celled animals grouped together (for mutual benefit) and thus a new animal was evolved.
REALLY?
Is not a group just a community?
Does any community actually become another, separate and distinct animal?
How did they communicate the desire for mutual benefit and decide on how best to link up?
How did they think? Were they single BRAIN cells?
How about this?
A fish swims to the surface of the water and sees a strange new world, waiting for him to explore. Being a very highly evolved fish, he has very human thoughts and decides that HE should explore this new world.
He jumps out of the water and looks around. He can't breath. He dies.

END OF THAT BRANCH OF EVOLUTION!
We have mongoloid syndrome from one gene out of wack! how can t be thought that adding different DNA (let alone explaining where and how it got added) would produce an 'advancement'
cross breeding (tiger-lion, horse-donkey) make new STERILE breeds.
evolution fails every time!

I live in Minnesota, so it gets pretty cold here (though, granted, only in comparison to some other places). I think the coldest temperature I've ever experienced is around sixty degrees below zero (fahrenheit). Now, I know all you Siberians out there are thinking "Sixty below? Psh...that's not cold, that's bikini weather," but, well, that's what we call cold. It's actually kind of refreshing at first when you first step outside (and it wakes you up pretty damn quick!) but after awhile it starts to feel a bit like you've been slapped in the face, and your extremities start to feel numb.

It's your turn...how cold has it gotten where you live? And how did it feel?
