No that is not true. However, when the Sun explodes that would be a huge impact. That is after our deaths though. RIght now you should worry more about global warming. Plant a tree, burn less fossil fuels. You've already made a difference

Yes, there is a comet heading towards earth. It is supposed to hit some time in the year 2012...but NASA is some how trying to move our planet out of the line of the comet. And, also by moving the planet, it will move us a bit further away from the sun's heat, therefore, making our planet cooler. Hopefully this will help prevent more global warming.
If the glaciers and ice caps melt in the north and south poles, then every ocean in the world is said to raise 50 more feet. And, if this happens we will be under water.

No comet or meteor is headed toward Earth. Nothing is going to hit in 2008. It is extremely unlikely than anyone alive today will die from an impact from space. You have heard wrong.

It would take a very big object to kill "most of us"! They only show up every few thousand years.
There are craters all over the earth of many sizes, some only a few dozen feet across ... An impact like that might kill someone, but probably not many.
If you don't worry much about getting struck by lightning, stop worrying ... the odds are lower.

There's hundreds of meteorites with near collision courses with Earth. In fact, one just passed within 275,000 miles about 2 weeks ago.
A global killer hasn't impacted in 65 million years though, so you could say we're due for one. I'm not aware of any specific meteor locked on us at the moment, and I don't believe the scientific community is aware of one either.

I don't think that we are going to die from a meteor hitting us. I think that we are going to die from global warming. The ice from south pole is frozen for a reason because when the ice melts the water is going to go higher and soon we are going to be under water.

There are some that are supposed to be traveling too close for comfort in our planet, but it will still be just about as far as the moon is from us.

I believe that the end of the world is coming soon. How it will happen exactly, I'm not sure.
